"Nursery Rescue Initiative" announces a protest against the construction of new buildings

The informal association "Initiative for saving the Nursery" announces a peaceful protest in an attempt to fight against the announcement of the Municipality of Kisela Voda to build a hundred new buildings in the Nursery.

- We decided to save the Nursery from concrete, and we will not give up on that. They plan to build about 90 new buildings here, according to our estimate, that would settle about 10.000 new inhabitants, as much as a smaller city. It is difficult for us even now, we have no sidewalks, no streets, no parking space. There is no access for a fire truck either. A multi-storey garage for 50 vehicles is now under construction. So far, about 35 vehicles could be parked there, so only for plus 15 vehicles, money is spent on construction, nothing is planned, just to say that something is being done, says Slobodan Vuksanovic.

He explains that with 400 signatures collected from the residents of Rasadnik, they submitted comments on the detailed urban plan at the public hearing organized by the Municipality. But, from there, they gave an explanation that the Plan will still be adopted, without being revised.

Thirty percent of the land in the Nursery is private land.

- The Municipality can very easily agree with the owners of the land. Most of the land is state-owned, the Municipality must consider humane living and housing. It must be thought that the air flow from Vodno to Kisela Voda and Aerodrom must not be obstructed. Without that air, the air in Skopje will be much more polluted. We have submitted a request to a dozen institutions to revise the detailed urban plan, we have no answer from anywhere. That is why we plan to organize a peaceful protest, announced Slobodan Vuksanovic from the informal association "Spas za Rasadnik".
