Inflation in Slovenia is accelerating again

Slovenian prices of consumer goods in November grew by 1,8 percent on an annual basis. Higher prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages contributed the most to the growth. On a monthly level, inflation amounts to 0,7 percent. The most expensive electricity during the transition to the winter season increased the calculation of network fees, the State Statistics Office announced, reports "SEE.biz.eu".

In November, consumer goods prices rose again, after remaining unchanged on an annual basis in October. However, the growth of prices is lower than a year ago, last year in November the annual inflation rate was 4,9 percent.

The biggest contribution to the annual inflation in November of this year was the price increase of food and soft drinks, followed by the price increase of healthcare, restaurants and hotels, clothing and footwear, and recreation and culture. Products and services in the transport group are cheaper than last year in November.

The biggest contribution to the monthly inflation is the more expensive electricity, which, due to the transition to the winter season, became more expensive by 16,8 percent when calculating network charges and increased inflation by 0,5 percentage points. Among other things, fuel is more expensive.

Monthly inflation was moderated by, among other things, cheaper accommodation and arrangements. Annual price growth, measured by the harmonized index of consumer prices, was 1,6 percent in November, after 4,5 percent in November last year.
