Indonesian President Joko Widodo has announced that he has conveyed a message from Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, without revealing its content.

"I conveyed a message from President Zelensky to President Putin," he said after meeting with his Russian counterpart in Moscow.

He did not say what the message was, but added that he "expressed a willingness to help the two leaders communicate."

Widodo met with Zelensky yesterday in Kyiv, and today he arrived in Moscow to talk with the Russian president.

The Indonesian president currently chairs a group of G20 countries and a UN crisis group set up to deal with the threat of global hunger.

Widodo invited Zelensky to the G20 summit to be held in Bali in November. AFP reports that Zelensky replied that his arrival depends on who else will be there. Namely, Russia is a member of the G20 and Putin is expected to come to the summit.
