There is potential for direct investments from Saudi Arabia in the country, says Osmani

Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani, as part of his first official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, met with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs, which also represents the first meeting of foreign ministers since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

At the meeting, the bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, as well as the ways for their further advancement, while satisfaction was expressed with the cooperation within the framework of multilateral organizations. The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the modalities for the development of economic and business relations, agreeing that there is a great potential for intensifying cooperation in the field of food industry, tourism and energy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

- Today's visit is a confirmation of the mutual commitment to the development of bilateral relations, with special emphasis on economic ties and trade exchange. There are great opportunities for further intensification of the exchange of food products and agricultural products, especially considering the current challenges with food security in this region and our potential for which we need new markets, Osmani said.

At the same time, Minister Osmani emphasized the intensive activities in the domain of economic diplomacy and the commitment to creating favorable conditions for foreign investors, underlining that the Saudi investors in the Government of North Macedonia will have a reliable and transparent partner for the realization of their potential future projects.

The interlocutors also discussed the possibilities of improving the contractual framework, parliamentary cooperation as well as cooperation in the field of culture and education.

Osmani briefed Al Saud on North Macedonia's recent membership in the Union for the Mediterranean, the upcoming chairmanship of the OSCE and the European file of the country, and also discussed topics of regional and international interest.
