Thousands of people gathered in the Serbian town of Sombor on the anniversary of the bombing of Serbia by the NATO alliance.
A large number of citizens will attend the commemoration of Remembrance Day in Sombor starting at 18:00 p.m. Porphyry, the president of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, deputies in the Parliament of Serbia, ministers in the Government of Serbia and Republika Srpska, announced News.
Sombor was the city where the first bombs fell.
One of the first cruise missiles fired at the then FR Yugoslavia hit the Sombor military airfield in the evening of March 24, at 19:55 p.m., five minutes before the officially scheduled start time for NATO attacks on the FRY.
The airport was attacked once again that evening and on that occasion a member of the then Yugoslav army was killed.
