Ever since his high school days, he started throwing himself on the Holy Cross on Epiphany, and today, finally, the cross literally falls into his hands. The lucky one who caught the cross in the holy waters of Vardar this year is Igor Jakimovski, who has been entering the cold water for 29 years in a row.

- This year it so happened that the cross fell into my hands. You saw for yourself that we did not compete who would be the first to swim to the cross, but all together we waited peacefully for the liturgy and the consecration of the water to end. We agreed that the consecrated cross should pass in the homes of everyone who participated in the event today, said Jakimovski.

He says that even though the weather was sunny, the water was still very cold, compared to previous years, but the faith in God always puts it first.

- It never occurred to me to change my mind, not to participate in the event. I am thankful to God that my health has been serving me well all these years so that I do not have to skip a single throw on the cross, adds Jakimovski.
