Iga Svyontek defends Roland Garros title

In the final in the women's competition of the Grand Slam tournament "Roland Garros" Iga Schwontek with a score of 2:1 (6:2, 5:7, 6:4) he defeated her in sets Karolina Muhova for two hours and 49 minutes of gameplay.

The Polish tennis player convincingly started the match after winning the first set with 6:2. Furiously, Šviontek started the second set with 3:0 and here, after an hour of play, it was as if the winner was announced.

But then Muhova entered the scene, who showed a much better performance, not only managed to come back and equalize twice at 3:3 and 4:4, but also took the lead (5:4).

Another 5:5 tie followed, and then the Czech tennis player won the next two games to tie the match at 1:1.

Muhova's series of games continued and at the start of the third set, when she gained a 2:0 advantage, three tied games were followed by the favorite Shvyontek, but Muhova did not give up, who fought back for a minimal positive of 4:3 after a new break.

The Polish tennis player returned the break for 4:4, then used her serve for 5:4. The winner was decided in game 10 when Schwiontek broke again to win and take the title.

This is Schwiontek's third title at Roland Garros, having won the previous two in 2020 and 2022.
