Although independent, the government counts Rexhepi in the majority
The government counts the independent MP Skender Rexhepi in the ruling majority, after he informed the President of the Assembly Talat Xhaferi half a month ago that he is no longer part of the ruling Alternative.
Xhaferi said at a press briefing that Rexhepi had informed him in a letter that he was leaving the Alternative party and that he would no longer respect the party's decisions. According to the President of the Assembly, Rexhepi did not declare how he will act, whether as a majority or as an opposition, and until he does so remains part of the ruling majority.
According to this, the government still has a majority of 64 MPs in the Assembly.
After Rexhepi left Alternative, the party asked him to return his parliamentary mandate.
