The list of products with a guaranteed price will be expanded, and it will include non-alcoholic, alcoholic drinks, beer and carbonated water, with the exception of energy drinks, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski announced at a press conference.

Their prices will be reduced by 10 percent, and the reference date is September 19. There will also be measures to reduce import duties for fresh vegetables, rice, citrus fruits (lemons, oranges and tangerines), as well as a reduction in customs rates for dairy products with a fat content of over 10 percent. These decisions will be made and announced in the coming days and will be put into practice, Kovacevski added.

- We made a new decision to reduce the margin for fruits and vegetables, so the price of these products will be further reduced by up to 30 percent - Kovacevski said. He explained that according to the latest government decision, the highest wholesale trade margin will be up to 10 percent, and retail up to 15 percent. The guaranteed price will be valid until November 30, and the decision will start from Wednesday after it is published in the "Official Gazette".

He told the merchants that working with digital tools allows them to quickly reduce prices just as they react quickly when it comes to price increases. The Prime Minister repeated that the Government will manage to stabilize inflation by the end of the year.

- With the September salary increases of 10 percent, we expect double-digit inflation to fall to 8 percent, and food to fall to 5 percent - Kovacevski said and added that they are in constant dialogue with all concerned entities.
