The news that a truck crashed into the fountain in the square was officially denied by the City of Skopje, from where they state that certain media are not ready to check the information that is posted on social networks, created in party kitchens, so they present it as credible.

The truth, if the media that reported about an allegedly broken truck in "Macedonia" square were interested, is that this event did not happen. Neither truck drove through "Macedonia" square, nor fell into the fountain. Any approach to the "Macedonia" square after the last incident before the New Year's celebration when a van belonging to a foreign citizen crashed into the underground fountain, is prohibited for vehicles and is physically impossible with poles installed. The fountain on the "Macedonia" square is fenced and marked, and access is prohibited for vehicles that could pass over it - the announcement of the City of Skopje states.
