Hoti: Four years have been lost with Kurti, the Kosovo government must implement the Washington Agreement
The former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Avdula Hoti, said that the new Government of Kosovo, which will be formed after the elections in February 2025, should direct its focus to the Washington agreement, which he signed on September 4, 2020, as then prime minister, with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vuić, through mediation and in the presence of the then American president, Donald Trump.
As the MIA correspondent from Pristina reported, Hoti wrote on his Facebook page that the start of the infrastructure projects foreseen by that agreement is in the interest of Kosovo and the future government should immediately start preparing plans for implementation and provide basic funds. After that, according to Hoti, it will be necessary to further enter into negotiations with strategic partners for the realization and full financing of the projects.
He says that with the prevailing energy crisis, the gas project has assumed the proportions of a national security issue.
The deputy of the opposition Democratic Union of Kosovo and a signatory of the Washington Agreement says that four years with his successor at the head of the Kosovo Government, the current Prime Minister Albin Kurti, "were lost", and "hundreds of millions of euros of investment were not realized and thousands of jobs were not created." they opened."
"Infrastructure projects from the Washington Agreement go beyond economic dimensions - they are a matter of national security and the long-term economic stability of the Republic of Kosovo," Hoti wrote.
