Hill: US is 'absolutely against' Kurti government's moves, there will be consequences
US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill today in Belgrade he said that the USA is "absolutely against" the moves of the government of the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti.
Hill recalled the words of the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that Pristina will bear the consequences for moves contrary to US advice.
"We made it very clear to Pristina that we are absolutely against the moves of Kurti's government. "Secretary Blinken was also very clear that this would have consequences for relations with Pristina," Hill said in Belgrade.
He also said that the US condemns the attacks by citizens on KFOR and NATO soldiers in the north of Kosovo and emphasized that such actions must stop immediately.
He added that it is "extremely important" that both sides understand that the only way forward is through the Brussels dialogue and the creation of the Community of Serbian Municipalities, expressing hope that Serbia will remain focused on continuing the European path.
