Haddad Maia is Halep's opponent in the final in Toronto
Brazilian tennis player Beatriz Hadad Maia continued her excellent games at the Masters in Toronto, securing a place in the finals after defeating Karolina Pliskova in the semi-finals with 6:4, 7:6. Her opponent in the final will be Simona Halep.
The Brazilian completely controlled the events in the first set. Already in the first game, she made a break, then took Pliskova's serve again in the fifth game and took the lead with 5:1. Then there was a small drop, Pliskova returned one break reducing it to 5:4, but in the tenth game Hadad Maya took a 1:0 lead in sets with a reliable serve.
In the second part, Pliskova was the first to make a break, in the second game she confirmed it with a reliable serve and led with 0:3. The Czech tennis player served to equalize at 1:1 in sets, but at 3:5, Hadad Maya managed to return to the game, break and then reach the tie-break, where she won 9:7, which earned her a place in the final.
