Grubi-Toman: Negotiations with the EU to start in early 2022

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Political System and Inter-Community Relations, Artan Grubi, met today with the Czech Ambassador to the country, Miroslav Toman, emphasizing that the support of the Czech Republic and other EU member states is very important for the European aspirations of Northern Macedonia. .

Grubi sought direct support from the Czech Republic in December to set a date for the first Intergovernmental Conference with the European Union, which will mark the start of negotiations in the first months of 2022. said the Cabinet of the First Deputy Prime Minister.

He stressed that the country should use the experiences of EU member states to implement EU membership reforms and create better living conditions for citizens.

It was discussed at the meeting that the Western Balkans is one of the biggest priorities that the Czech Republic is focusing on in terms of European perspectives and that it will continue to act in that direction.

Grubi and Toman agreed that the potential for continued co-operation between the two countries is great.
