The Greeks will examine the path of subsidies from 1986 to the present!
A special team led by Greek Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos and Secretary General for Investments Stelina Siarapi is working on hundreds of projects that appear to have been subsidized by development laws over the past 39 years, the Greek government announced. That's Vima.

As Theodorikakos revealed yesterday, in 1.416 cases of companies that were subject to the development laws of 2004 and 2011 and received subsidies (advances), it was discovered that the projects they applied for were never completed.
These random checks, on the one hand, identified advances of 486 million euros given for the implementation of projects in tourism and production, and on the other hand, a huge control gap.
A group was mobilized for the audits, which noted that every year in the budget there are provisions for non-implementation of projects along with the amounts of assistance from the Development Law. Sources for OT say that the Ministry of Development has started conducting random checks on projects included in the development laws of 2004 and 2011, on the grounds that projects for which advance payments of assistance were given should have been completed by 90% and 100% so many years later.
However, they identified the 1.416 aforementioned cases of companies that received aid advances of almost half a billion euros without these projects being implemented.
The relevant notifications have already been sent to the Tax Administration, while "the ministry's door is also open to those who received the advances, but for various reasons that can be documented, the projects did not proceed," notes a source from the Ministry of Development. The information says that the investigation by the Ministry of Development will also extend to the development laws of 1986 and 2016.
