Greece is helping France with two planes to put out the fires
Yesterday, Greece sent two Canadian aircraft (Canadair CL-415) to France to help put out the fires, the MIA correspondent from Athens reported.
The planes were sent after French authorities through the European Civil Protection Mechanism and rescEU asked for help to deal with large forest fires, especially in the south-west and south-east of the country.
"From the first moment when the request was activated, by order of the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Christos Stylianides, Greece made available the two planes, which have already arrived in France," the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection of Greece announced.
This is the second time this year that Greece has sent aid to France in dealing with forest fires.
France has already been offered help by Sweden, Poland, Germany, Romania and Austria.
