At today's session, the Albanian government made a decision with which citizens from the countries of the Western Balkans will not need a travel document to enter the country, but can do so with valid ID cards, reported the state agency ATA.

As stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Pale Chuchi the decision enters into force immediately and the goal is to create facilitating opportunities for movement in the region of the Western Balkans.

"The adopted decision has to do with the free movement of citizens in the Western Balkans with only an ID card. It is about an agreement that was signed in Berlin in November last year and now it is approved by the Albanian government. Which means that with the entry into force of this decision, all citizens from the Western Balkans can freely come and move in Albania only with an ID card," he said.

He assesses that "this is in the spirit of two very important initiatives to strengthen the region and the Western Balkans, the Berlin Process and "Open Balkans", one of the three pillars, as we said, the free movement of people, capital and goods".
