According to the MUP data, a total of 8 weapons and mines and explosive devices, as well as almost three million pieces of ammunition, were handed over to Serbia until June 88.895. After the two mass murders that took place in just two days at the beginning of May, first in the elementary school "Vladislav Ribnikar" in Vračar, and then in the villages of Malo Orašje and Dubona near Mladenovac, the MUP started the action "Give up the arms campaign ".

In just one month, the citizens handed over 65.841 weapons, 23.144 mines and explosives and as many as 3 million pieces of ammunition.

Since the beginning of the action, the MUP appeals every day to the citizens to hand over their unregistered weapons by June 8, stating that they will not be criminally responsible for this, nor will they suffer any consequences, which they do not have to provide. identification or proof of origin of the weapon.

Meanwhile, this action has been extended until June 30, and it is believed that more citizens will decide to take the weapons, hand grenades, bombs and ammunition they illegally possess to police stations.

That being said, zero tolerance for illegal weapons will then begin and insist that anyone found in possession of illegal weapons be punished to the full extent of the law.

Let us remind you that according to the Criminal Code of Serbia, the penalty for the illegal manufacture, possession, carrying and trading of weapons and explosive substances is up to 3 years in prison, and if the police stop you while you have a gun with you, for example, you can be sentenced to prison a sentence of up to 12 years.
