City of Skopje: Organized transportation provided for students with disabilities

Organized transportation is provided for students with disabilities from their place of residence to high schools and faculties in Skopje where they study and study back and forth, with adapted vehicles, for which The City of Skopje and JSP concluded an agreement. It is an activity of the City of Skopje which is in accordance with the Program for activities in the field of social, child and health care in the City of Skopje, for 2022.

The organized transportation of pupils and students with disabilities who attend classes in high schools or faculties in the City of Skopje is realized with an adapted bus and minibus van. The vehicles are completely adapted to the needs of the users with the possibility of entry for the wheelchair and other accessories.

A total of 80 pupils and students with disabilities use this type of transportation. The Association of Students and Youth with Disabilities makes a weekly schedule directly with the target group and drivers and organizes routes.

The City of Skopje is committed to significantly improving the quality of life of students and youth belonging to this vulnerable group, to enable greater mobility, easier access for people with disabilities to schools and colleges, inclusion in the regular educational process and ensuring independence and independence in motion.
