After information leaked on social media that air pollution in Skopje is at a high level and the city is among the most polluted in the world, from the City of Skopje today, through a statement, denied the alleged air pollution.

The City of Skopje says that it is about spreading disinformation, because the global monitoring service "WAQI", which shows real-time data on the level of pollution in the largest cities in the world, clearly shows that Skopje is not among the most polluted cities.

- The need to spread the sensationalist lie about the alleged pollution of the city of Skopje is incomprehensible to us, especially due to the fact that the global monitoring service "WAQI", which shows real-time data on the level of pollution in all major cities in the world, clearly shows that Skopje it is not even the most polluted city in Macedonia, and not in the world, say the City of Skopje.

Kočani, Strumica, Gevgelija, Kavadarci and Tetovo are said to be the most polluted cities in Macedonia in the last 48 hours.

- We appeal to the media not to fall for the fake news and dishonest political agendas of VMRO-DPMNE, but to check the accuracy of the information coming from this party kitchen at least three times. In the last two years, the city of Skopje has planted 1.400.000 seedlings, awarded subsidies for the purchase of inverter air conditioners for the citizens of the city of Skopje, built three new mega-parks in Gjorce Petrov, Aerodrom and Chair, and two are under implementation in Saraj and Karposh, we cleaned 250 wild landfills which, unfortunately, the mayors of VMRO-DPMNE are re-establishing by dumping their garbage and construction rubble, which have already been established and sent orders for a fine, the announcement states.
