The famous chef Peng Fan, while preparing a dish that is rarely prepared in Asian homes in recent years - cobra soup, was bitten by the severed head of a snake.

A fan cut off the cobra's head while preparing this dish, but when he decided to throw it in the trash after 20 minutes, that head bit him.

The cobra's head released a strong poison into his bloodstream, so the unfortunate Peng died before arriving at the hospital.

The question - how is this possible, is answered by expert Yang Hong-Chang, who has been studying snakes for 40 years.

He claims that all reptiles can function for up to an hour after losing a body part, and even, as in this case, the whole body.

"It is quite possible for the head to function and bite the cook's hand. Although the snake was dead, the reflexes still functioned. "This means that snakes can bite and ingest venom even after you cut off their heads." explained Hong-Chang and added that this is a very unusual case.

It should be remembered that the venom released by cobras causes suffocation and paralysis, and if it reaches only the eyes, the face immediately becomes blind.

Therefore, handling these dangerous reptiles is not recommended for inexperienced people.

We only remember Bernardo Alvarez, 62, the famous hunter of the most dangerous snakes in the Philippines, who claimed to be immune to their venom. He died on the spot when a cobra bit his tongue after he allegedly tried to kiss her.

Just moments before his death, Alvarez caught one of the most poisonous cobra species found in the neighborhood on July 9.

The audience around the snake hunter then cheered and applauded him. As he, carried away by the atmosphere, showed the snake to the enthusiastic people, he allowed himself to approach his face as he pretended to kiss her on the mouth.

Shocked, Alvarez screamed in pain, then fell to the ground and soon died.
