Great tragedy: Former national team member and handball player of Kometal GP, Julija Nikolic, dies

Handball Macedonia is in shock and sadness after the information arrived this morning that the former Macedonian national team player Julia Nikolic (formerly Portjanko) died for unknown reasons.

Julia Nikolic arrived in Kometal Gjorce Petrov in 2003 and played for the team that dominated the Macedonian women's handball for six years. Then he played for Uskudr, Arvor and Zvezda Zvenigorod, to return to Macedonia in 2013 and spend the last two seasons of his career in the ranks of WHC Vardar.

Nikolic received Macedonian citizenship and until the last days of his career he played for the national team of Macedonia, and her last appearance for the national team was at the European Championship in 2012.
She will be remembered as a great player, an even bigger man…
