A large iceberg has broken off the Brunt Ice Shelf in Antarctica

A large iceberg has broken off Antarctica's Brunt Ice Shelf, British research organization Antarctic Survey (BAS) said.

The 380 square kilometer iceberg broke on Monday weeks after a 14 kilometer long crack opened in the ice.

In the announcement, BAS points out that the event is not related to climate change.
