According to the Iranian news agency IRNA, a huge explosion occurred just a few kilometers from one of the Iranian nuclear power plants in the Badroud region.

A Fars News reporter said the sound of the blast was heard an hour ago and was very loud but short-lived. According to local sources, strong light was observed in the sky. A local reporter heard that a drone of unknown origin had been shot down. The same is said by other unconfirmed sources who add that the explosion occurred when an anti-aircraft missile hit a drone.

Natanz's governor confirmed the incident to Fars News Agency, saying details were not yet known, but promised they would be released as soon as the situation became clear.

The latest news is that the Iranian military has announced that it has conducted an unannounced missile test.
