A wildfire is raging north of Los Angeles, and authorities have issued an evacuation order for people in the area, US media reported.

The storm covered 14,5 square kilometers near Interstate 5 in Gorman, about 100 kilometers northwest of Los Angeles.

An evacuation order has been issued in Los Angeles County in the US state of California due to the spread of the fire to the main highway and surrounding buildings.

The fire broke out yesterday around 14 pm local time, and extinguishing it is made difficult by the wind, which reaches a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, according to the American media.

Helicopters are also involved in extinguishing the fire, and drivers who stopped to take pictures of the fire caused several traffic accidents on the highway.

An investigation has been launched into the causes of the fire.
