With a joint, fast and coordinated reaction within the company OKTA was held "Joint Response 2019", a complex exercise for firefighting, protection and rescue.

The interactive exercise, managed by the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, was conducted with the participation of the Territorial Firefighting Units from Skopje and Kumanovo, the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Transport and Communications, PE Macedonian Railways Infrastructure, Aviation Department of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, Red cross. In the joint response to the crisis scenario, the Universal units for protection and rescue from the companies OKTA AD Skopje, TAV Macedonia, MAKPETROL AD Skopje, AVA KOTA, Alkaloid Skopje, Acibadem Sistina, ambulance of OKTA - PZU equally participated.

- At the initiative of several entities and companies, the Directorate for Protection and Rescue as a competent institution in dealing with this type of disasters, and within the Training Center of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, undertakes activities to perform such a complex exercise where spatial forces of several institutions and legal entities for protection and rescue with the direct participation of the representatives of the Protection and Rescue Directorate. The purpose of the exercise is to act preventively, to show what the capacities and readiness are to respond in a certain situation, whether and where the performance for quick reaction should be improved and to be ready for a real event. "Today we saw a highly professional, fast and coordinated response with the involvement of several different teams, which proves that with special seriousness and expertise this preventive function is approached by special and universal units from different institutions," said Adnan Xhaferoski, director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue. .

The scenario for the exercise was prepared by a team composed of experts from the Directorate for Protection and Rescue and included an extreme situation of several scenarios with multiple fires, explosions and danger to people and property.

- Conducting the exercise as a joint response showed that the reaction of special and universal units is coordinated and ready to respond to similar situations. In addition to the expertise of specialized units from relevant institutions and public companies, in such scenarios the role of companies such as OKTA is especially important, where given the nature of our work, we place special emphasis on safety and expertise in dealing with unpredictable and crisis situations. In the implementation of today's complex exercise, which was created almost identically to the real situation, our unit showed readiness, compliance and high readiness to give a quick and effective response, "said Zoran Dorevski, Security and PP Protection Manager at OKTA.

The exercise lasted four hours, and in addition to the company OKTA, part of the scenario took place in the industrial zone near the villages Miladinovci, Petrovec and Bunardzik. This type of exercise is especially important because it deals with the protection of human lives, material goods and the environment in high crisis situations.

The interactive exercise was followed by representatives of the state leadership. The President of Stevo Pendarovski, the Minister of Interior, Oliver Spasovski, the Minister without portfolio, Edmond Ademi as well as representatives of the General Staff of the ARSM were present in the circle of OKTA during the event.
