A visitor to the basilica "St. Peter" in Rome undressed and climbed onto the altar of the church, in an act that is supposed to be a protest against the war in Ukraine, said an unnamed source from the Vatican.

The naked man had a message written on his back calling to save the children of Ukraine. An unnamed source claims that he had signs of self-inflicted injuries on his body, i.e. scratches.

Vatican guards detained the unidentified man and handed him over to Italian police.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon just before the closing of the basilica.
Several Italian media outlets published photos of the man taken by tourists who happened to come across them.
