In the gallery "Justina and Rodoljub Anastasov" at the Museum of the City of Skopje, on December 6, at 19.30:XNUMX p.m., the annual exhibition of works by Rodoljub Anastasov from the collection of the gallery "Justina and Rodoljub Anastasov" will be opened.

It is a presentation of about 30 works from the most significant cycles of the author Rodoljub Anastasov, which are part of the collection of the "Justina and Rodoljub Anastasov" Gallery, a valuable donation collection that includes about 400 works originating from different periods of time (from 1957 to 2010 ) and represents a unique intersection of several art styles and tendencies in contemporary Macedonian art.

The curator of the exhibition is Anita Boshkova Dokovska, senior curator at the "Justina and Rodoljub Anastasov" Gallery at the Museum of the City of Skopje.

- These works are a mark of Anastasov's authentic and unique creative oeuvre. This year's exhibition presents an eclectic selection from several of Anastasov's cycles, paintings from the cycle to which he has been devoted for the longest time - "Man and Space", "Man and Time", "In Search of Lost Space", the impressive drawings from the cycles "Action of the Elements" , "Change of shape", "Transfiguring", all performed in the technique - shower on paper, created in the period between 1957-1960, and belonging to the so-called an informal laboratory.

Anastasov presents the phenomena of space, the universe, the vertical-horizontal contrast with a symbolic, psychological charge that characterizes his work.

Between the strictness of form and melancholy, he explores the space in and around man, the external – real and physical and the internal – imaginary and metaphysical. As a counterbalance to the scenes with bustling crowds of people in which you can almost hear the street chatter, are painted the quiet, lonely, wide expanses in which man is isolated and alone as in a desert. Sometimes the author puts himself in the role of a silent and distant observer of the world around him, a world that is outside his window...

With great suggestiveness and poetics, Anastasov paints the drama and dynamics of life, the uncertainty of the time we live in, always leaving a ray of hope that the world and humanity can and must be better - points out the curator Anita Boškova Dokovska.

Following the previous concept of installations, this exhibition is also annual, that is, it will be installed and will last from December 2023 to December 2024, in the gallery "Justina and Rodoljub Anastasov" at the Museum of the City of Skopje.
