A hygienist conducted interviews for Bulgarian citizenship at our consulate in Bitola, said acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Dimitar Glavchev, reports BNR.

After reporting violations at the consulate, an inspection was carried out that established a violation by the employed hygienist, as well as in relation to the call center that made an appointment for Bulgarian citizenship.

"The head of the General Consulate in Bitola stopped the activities of Vesna Kotevska, except for the hygienist. After inspection by the Inspectorate, the employee no longer has access to the archive and activity of the consular service of the representative office.

This is not the only violation found during the inspection.

Glavchev reported a call center maintained by a Macedonian company that provided appointment services at the consulate in Bitola and the Bulgarian embassy in Skopje:

"In this way, a legal entity with unclear ownership got the opportunity to find out, systematize and archive the personal data of tens of thousands of people who over the years applied for Bulgarian citizenship and any other type of consular services. The telephone number of the call center is impulsive, and the price of the calls is not published and has an unclear value for the user and for the employees of the general consulate in Bitola."

The contract with the company has been terminated, assured the Bulgarian Prime Minister.
