Noah Cyrus opened up about her Xanax addiction and how she managed to wean herself off the antidepressant. In a statement to the magazine "Rolling Stone", the pop star's younger sister Miley Cyrus stated that she first started using Xanax when she was eighteen years old. He is now twenty-two years old.
"My boyfriend at the time, when I was 18, was the first person to give me Xanax and it became a way for us to bond," said the young Nashville-born singer.

“I think I just wanted to fit in with him. I thought it was cool to use anti-depressants. "By the time I realized that the addiction to this drug made me feel relaxed and stress-free all the time, it was too late, I became addicted," she said.
Noah recalled the moment when she was so addicted to the drug that she could not stand to attend an interview that had been previously scheduled.
"My head was falling, my eyes were closing, I couldn't speak well," said the young singer.

In August 2020, Noah and Miley's grandmother passed away, and she was on Xanax the whole time and couldn't be with the family.
“It took me a while to get off Xanax and get over the anxiety and depression that followed. "Music helped me to recover," said Noa.
