The Macedonian men's volleyball senior national team led by coach Ratko Pavlicevic played two control matches in Mavrovo against Albania.

In the first match, our volleyball players were better with 3: 1, and in the second, the Albanians triumphed with a result of 3: 0 in sets.

These two matches served as preparation before the performance in European Silver League in which we will measure forces against Albania, Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The start of the European Silver League for volleyball players is on May 25 at home against BiH, followed by a visit to Romania.

Then Pavlicevic's team will play two matches against Albania, and in the last two rounds Macedonia will first meet Romania, and then will visit BiH. The placement in the final tournament that will be played on June 18 and 19 in Hungary, will be secured by the two first-placed national teams. Then the national team expects to perform at the Mediterranean Games in Algeria (June 25 - July 5).

Despite the partial success in Mavrovo, the captain of our team Nikola Gjorgiev says there is no need to worry.

- The first friendly matches passed, the only ones before the start of the European Silver League, with one victory and one defeat. In some segments of what was shown in those matches, we can be satisfied, I am really surprised by the desire and motivation of my teammates, but there are also parts of the game that are negative that we have to work on. Surely now we are in a new environment, with new players who need a little time, patience, in order to adapt together. We have the last three trainings before the first match with BiH. "Every day our appetites increase and I hope we will start well and beat the Bosnians," said Gjorgiev.
