Germany and Austria will stop accepting asylum applications from Syrian migrants

The German government has decided to stop accepting asylum applications from citizens of Syria. The German agency DPA announced that the decision will take effect immediately.

The Austrian "Krone" announced that the Austrian government has also decided to stop all asylum applications submitted by citizens of Syria. At the same time, the authorities in Vienna decided to stop applications for the establishment of marriage, which were submitted by Syrians.

More than 6,2 million refugees have left Syria in the last 13 years of the country's civil war. A large part of them came to Europe through Turkey.
