The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Giorgos Gerapetritis, in his presentation at today's Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) in Luxembourg mentioned "Skopje's criminal behavior since the elections and after" and pointed to "the clear interpretation of the Prespa Agreement that applies to all (erga omnes)", Greek diplomatic sources briefed the media in Greece, the MIA correspondent from Athens reported.

According to the same sources, at the meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of the European Union, the head of the Greek diplomacy pointed out that "the selective application of international law is impermissible", but he also emphasized that the future of the Western Balkans is in Europe, under the basic condition of "faithful respect for European legislation and international law".

At the working lunch of the heads of diplomacy of the Union with their counterparts from the countries of the Western Balkans, Gerapetritis repeated that the European perspective is a road in one direction, but it should be based on the criteria and achievements of the states themselves on three levels: the European legislation; respect for fundamental rules, democracy, rule of law, protection of minorities and faithful application of international law.

In addition, according to the same diplomatic sources for the media in Greece, after Greek intervention and swift diplomatic actions, the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell, in his presentation, clearly reiterated that the principle pacta sunt servanda (treaties are binding and should be respected) is a prerequisite for the European perspective of the Western Balkans.
