Georgievski: Public calls are underway for a grant of up to 10.000 euros for food producers

Support for small wineries in the form of grants continues this year. Their success, this year 2023, will be mirrored to small food producers.
Two public calls for granting non-refundable financial support in the amount of up to 10.000 euros to small producers of food of animal and non-animal origin are underway, noted today Gotse Georgievski from the Commission for Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of SDSM.
- Our national wealth, traditional products, fruit and vegetable processing, milk and meat products are the main focus in the support provided to agricultural holdings, which are registered or recorded in the Register maintained by the Food and Veterinary Agency, for sale by house threshold. Such strong support for small agricultural businesses has never been seen before, he said.
According to Georgievski, until a few years ago, there were only about forty wineries in the Register of Wine Producers.
Today, just two years after we made the amendments to the Law on Wine and enabled the registration of small family wineries, the number of registered wineries is over 200. The Government led by SDSM has the greatest credit for this, because we recognized the potential that our winegrowers have, and last year, for the first time in the history of independent Macedonia, a special program for financial support of small wineries was implemented. 59 small wineries used such support, with grants of up to 10.000 euros, added Georgievski.
