Gastrosexuals: Men spend more and more time in the kitchen
The kitchen is no longer reserved for women only, as men are spending more and more time in it, according to research from Oxford University. The growing interest of men in cooking is considered by some to be a new trend of "gastrosexuals", who decided to put on aprons and enter the kitchen behind the stove.

The longer stay of men in the kitchen was mostly influenced by famous chefs like Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsey. They gave the cooking a macho image.

According to research done at the University of Oxford, while in the early 60s of the last century in the kitchen they stayed up to 12 minutes, today the stronger sex spends an average of one hour a day in the kitchen, with a spoon in hand.
Women used to spend two hours in the kitchen for generations, while today that average is closer to that of men.
