It is normal for every opposition to try to have elections as soon as possible and that is legitimate. We think early elections are not needed. If we had thought otherwise, three months ago we would not have become part of this Government, but we would have gone to the polls, said the President of Alternativa, Afrim Gashi after the first part of the First Congress of the party in Skopje.

- We think that in such an economic and health crisis, because of the stability of the country we should not go to the polls, but still it is a right of the Assembly and 61 MPs can decide to go to the polls. "But we are against that," Gashi said.

Gashi stressed that Alternative had joined the governing coalition to help get a date for the start of the country's EU membership talks.

"If at some point we think that our exit would help, we would do it, but we think that there should be a government that will actively work to reach an agreement with Bulgaria and start negotiations as soon as possible," he said.

When asked why the Alternative MP Skender Rexhepi-Zaid was not present at the Congress, who repeatedly stated that he was not satisfied with the work and fulfillment of the points of the political agreement for the party to enter the governing coalition, Gashi said that when they became part The government has not indicated anywhere that they will do anything in 100 days.

- When you enter the middle of the term, you can not commit to some 100 days, but we held a meeting after a hundred days, because we want to give an account to our voters, activists and all citizens and that was the goal. We want all those points to be realized, but objectively when there are obstacles we have the understanding to wait for the most appropriate moment to put them on the agenda. We work intensively and we want to realize that, but on the other hand we have understanding. The future will show how much it will be realized, Gashi said
