According to Gashi, they are the only and legitimate representatives of Albanians in these elections. Consequently, as he emphasizes, this obliges us to represent the Albanians in the future Government, where, among other things, we will manage important institutions from the internal affairs sector, which are responsible for sanctioning crime and corruption, in order to fight strongly and directly against multifaceted and long-standing crime and corruption

The president of Alternativa, Afrim Gashi, stated at a press conference today that the Albanian opposition coalition "Vredi" is a guarantee in the future government for the adoption of the constitutional amendments.

- The Albanian coalition "Vredi" is a guarantee in the future government that the constitutional amendments will be adopted and for this we will have a special framework for the measures and deadlines for the implementation of this obligation. Of course, our insistence is that they be adopted as quickly as possible and that the negotiations for accession to the EU begin as soon as possible. My last appeal is to work with great diligence, dedication and care, in order to make the victory on May 8 as glorious as possible. Convinced that it is all worth doing. While we are here, I must call you to be calm that it is just propaganda that someone will block the constitutional amendments and the European integration path, Gashi said.

To a journalist's question that he had previously said that the constitutional amendments would be passed by September if they entered the government, Gashi said that he does not operate with dates, but said it figuratively in order, as he said, to show that they want the constitutional amendments to be passed as soon as possible. changes.

- I have not operated with dates, but you know when you talk about months and dates sometimes it is figurative to show that you want as soon as possible. Now this time, in our press we used the word as fast as possible. So we really want it to happen as soon as possible, but we have to work, he said.

He emphasized that the process of constitutional amendments is a complicated process and pointed out that it requires a broad consensus and a broad debate, to open a dialogue and to be in contact with friends from the international community and the Bulgarian side.

-Anyone who will tell you that red lines are being placed, conditions are being imposed, we have made sure in such processes that this is not the correct approach with which we would like to succeed. If we want to succeed, the way is to open dialogue, insist, work honestly and we are convinced that in this country the largest number of political parties are in favor of constitutional changes and integration of the country into the EU. If we want to go that way, we should all work sincerely in that way and the constitutional amendments will happen, he said.

Gashi emphasizes that they have not yet discussed with VMRO-DPMNE about the constitutional amendments. He pointed out that the most important thing for them is to first drive out the election campaign for the parliamentary elections.

- We have not talked with VMRO-DPMNE about this topic, but we also know the positions. The election campaign process should drive everyone to their camps. It is important for us to win on May 8 with as many votes as possible. DUI left the battle in the Albanian bloc. They shout that they are not competing with us, but with VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM. We are the only representatives of the Albanians in this bloc. But every vote, every mandate, every deputy is very important to us. It will give us more power in the negotiations with VMRO-DPMNE and for the composition of the future government, he said.

According to Gashi, they are the only and legitimate representatives of Albanians in these elections. Consequently, as he emphasizes, this obliges us to represent the Albanians in the future Government, where, among other things, we will manage important institutions from the internal affairs sector, which are responsible for sanctioning crime and corruption, in order to fight strongly and directly against multifaceted and long-standing crime and corruption.

- For us, it is more important what we will stand for than what ministries we will take. We want to agree on the government program and one of the main principles should be the fight against corruption and crime. Whether the Minister of Internal Affairs will be from "Vredi" or from another party, it is important for us that whoever is in that position - stands for it. We would also like that sector to be led by Albanians for once to show that in Macedonia we do not have any prejudices about who leads what departments, but it is important to us who will lead those departments and how well. But the most important thing is that we all once and for all be worthy of that fight against corruption and crime and that impunity in this country goes down in history. Anyone who made a mistake and broke the law should be held accountable for especially high corruption and especially political corruption, said the president of Alternativa.

Regarding the election of the head of the state by the Assembly, Gashi emphasized that this is not their condition when forming the future government, and indicated that a broad debate and a broad political consensus should be opened on this issue as well.

-When adopting the future constitutional amendments, a provision should be made according to which the president of the state will be elected in the republican assembly, with the widest possible political consensus, but also with greater ethnic cohesion through a double majority. The election of the president of the state by the Assembly is not a requirement. We said broad debate. For everything that requires a two-thirds majority, you should always open a broad debate and consensus in the country, in the Assembly. You can't conditionally get to two-thirds. We need to convince ourselves, to open a broad debate, to see if this is really good for all citizens and if we are all convinced that it is good - then we will approach the procedure and vote. It is not for us to set conditions when someone is not convinced about it. I want to convince ourselves, to open a broad social debate among all political stake holders and to end it with voting for a president in the Parliament. We believe that it is better for the citizens that the president of the state is elected in the Assembly, said the president of Alternativa, Afrim Gashi.
