GALLERY | Irresistible garden in the center of Strumica: Flowers are like people, it is felt when they are happy and when they are sad

Flowers are like people, they have a face, eyes, glow, and it is immediately felt when they are happy and playful, but also when they are sad and bent, says Kristina Trendova, owner of one of the most beautiful gardens, a treasure inherited from her mother.

Kristina Trendova's family garden is located in the center of Strumica, just behind the church "St. Demetrius and Gregory". She is over fifty years old and has undergone many changes. The house is by Kristina's parents and her sister, the famous pianist Danica Stojanova, and the yard is known to many of their friends, and friends of their children, where they are happy to hang out. There used to be pines in the garden, vegetables were grown, there were orchards, many kinds of flowers, but over time it became a little calmer. But she is irresistible!

- Our parents died and I take care of the garden with the help of my son Aleksandar. We rejoice when the yard is full of people and we enjoy the pleasant view of the beautiful roses, white pebbles and the rest of nature. The yard is very useful, the grass is suitable for my granddaughters to play when they come to visit, and for our cocker Lucy who enjoys rolling on the grass. Thus, gradually the yard, and even the garden, got their present glow with an exceptional energy where love and peace are felt - Christina tells us.

This beautiful garden requires daily attention, the grass must be mowed at least once a week, to clean all unnecessary grass from the flower pots, to irrigate the whole area almost every night when the temperatures are high. The living green fence in the yard is growing fast and needs constant pruning. It takes perseverance, says Christina, and she strives to maintain this wealth as much as she can despite her work responsibilities. Otherwise, the garden is a legacy from her mother, Galaba, who made it a small oasis where love, serenity and spiritual energy reign. Roses are the queens of this wonderful garden and they are a symbol of beauty and love.

- The rose is capricious and requires attention. Pruning is stressful for the plant. It is therefore necessary to pay attention to what the weather is like. I usually do this in the fall, sanitary pruning, and the real pruning is at the end of winter and the beginning of spring. With proper cultivation they are in full bloom - says our interlocutor.

Besides the queens - roses, there are flowers in pots, verbena, begonia, Christmas cactus, candies, little ones. We ask Christina if it is true that flowers need to be told to bloom in all their splendor?

- Absolutely, she answers, and adds: They seek a lot of love, they themselves are love and feel everything. They, like us humans, have a face, eyes, glow, and it is immediately felt when they are happy and playful, but also when they are sad and bent, and the final stage is when they are drooping and before leaving. Only care, love and proper watering can restore them. Four years ago, the orange jasmine I brought from Greece froze, we rejoiced for years, it grew to the roof of the house, it was enchanted by the white flowers that smelled of orange. A year later a green leaf was born from the infamous stem. I was overjoyed! I waited for another leaf to appear, and so, leaf by leaf, the orange jasmine came back and lived again. Nature is a miracle - Christina tells us.

And not to mention the delicious rose jam. Mama Galaba made sweets from all kinds of fruits, so Kristina continued the tradition, and in the near future, she promises, she will try it in the rose jam.
