Galatasaray footballer Mauro Icardi received a serious injury and will miss the remaining matches until the end of the season, the Turkish club announced.

The Argentinian has torn anterior cruciate ligaments and an injured meniscus in his right knee from the match against Tottenham in the Europa League last night, which Galata won 3:2.

Icardi will undergo an operation, after which rehabilitation will begin.

This season, the 31-year-old forward made seven appearances and scored four goals in the Turkish championship.

In his professional club career, Icardi also played for PSG, Inter and Sampdoria.
