French Prime Minister Jacques Castex has resigned

The French Prime Minister Jean Catex resigned today, his office said.

British media previously reported, citing two unnamed government sources, that Castex had arrived at the Elysee Palace to resign.

Castex's resignation will pave the way for the long-awaited government reshuffle following the April presidential election Emmanuel Macron won a second term.
