Several dozen people fought in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) on Monday evening around 21 pm, Le Figaro newspaper reported today, citing police sources. The fight happened near the Saint-Denis tram station, located on the T8 line, while the families were waiting for their tram, the MIA correspondent reported.

According to Figaro's information, fifty people were involved in the confrontation. Some sources claim that it is a clash of gangs, "apparently between Egyptians and Algerians", without this being officially confirmed.

The protagonists fought with iron bars and "long sticks", and some were even armed with planks with nails. Images have been posted on social media showing crowd movements and attackers chasing their opponents.

In view of these scenes of panic, a police team was deployed to end the fight. One of the attackers, with a board with nails attached to it, was arrested after hitting a man in the back. During the arrest, the individual resisted and struck a police officer.

So far, no other arrests have been made, but an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators.
