PHOTO+VIDEO: The old Skopje bazaar - the heart of Skopje

In the morning, the city wakes up. The Old Skopje Bazaar, the heart of Skopje, also wakes up snugly in the embrace of the Skopje Kale.

The guild members are already drinking a second coffee or tea, and the employees are already opening the shutters for the new working day.

Seemingly everything is quiet, everyone is doing their job. The day begins, in front of every shop one sweeps for good luck, waiting for the first customers.

Zlatarska Street is full of foreigners, some walking, some shopping. Foreigners breathe with the lungs of the bazaar, absorb every breath that comes from the old crafts.

Blacksmiths, blacksmiths, blacksmiths. Souvenirs are bought, rugs are offered, but also some yambolia hanging in front of the shops. If the sun bothers you, you can also buy a custom-made hat from the hat shop.

Hatters offer all kinds of models. Food and coffee are a separate story. Grills are fired up and the first kebabs are grilled. Lure at every turn. After walking, he sits down to eat ten with onions. If you're not into barbecue, there's something for everyone. For those with a sweet tooth, we offer baklava, tulumbi, as well as lokum prepared according to a traditional recipe.

Antique shops are a separate story. You can buy anything and everything from a costume to an old radio.

For some, the Bazaar is a way to start the day.

Just sit back and enjoy the spirit it offers. Others enjoy each other and walk around holding hands. There are no yours here, they are all ours...
