After the photos of the houses swallowed by lava, more amazing scenes are arriving from the Spanish island of La Palma these days - several houses are now covered with a huge amount of ash from the volcano, which erupted on the island a month and a half ago.

The amount of ash is so large that some houses at the foot of the volcano are not visible at all, and the ash is on the streets or in front of the doors of some buildings, blocking the entrance.

The photo from the cemetery is especially scary - only crosses come out of the ashes.

Spanish El Mundo announced that the volcano has not stopped erupting lava since September 19. The air quality in Los Lanos de Aridana has deteriorated, while the seismic activity has decreased, although this week there was a new earthquake with a magnitude of 5 on the Richter scale.

The ash from the volcano reached the northern part of the island and covered numerous municipalities such as Tiarafe, Puntagorda and Garafia, as well as the facilities of the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands, which is located at 2.426 meters above sea level. transmits Efe.

The media reports that wind forecasts, south and southwest, could affect the operation of La Palma airport this Monday, by moving the ash to that area.

In addition, the eruption reached a height of 4.500 meters above sea level, explained the director of the National Geographic Institute (IGN) in the Canary Islands, Maria Jose Blanco.

Locals are advised to wear masks if they leave their homes, as the island's air quality has deteriorated.
