Skopje last night he had the privilege of enjoying unique musical magic. Legendary Spanish tenor Placido Domingo held a magnificent concert in the Boris Trajkovski Arena, delighting hundreds of fans who followed every note of his voice with great enjoyment from beginning to end. Incidentally, Plácido Domingo held a concert in Skopje for the first time in his impressive career.

Domingo together with Maria Jose Siri, one of the world's leading sopranos, accompanied by the orchestra of the National Opera and Ballet and under the baton of the passionate and energetic Jordi Bernacer from Spain provided a two-hour unforgettable musical experience.

Domingo's appearance on stage was crowned with thunderous applause, with frequent and numerous shouts of affirmation from the audience, which permeated the entire concert.

With complete command of the stage, with a powerful voice that echoed throughout the hall, Domingo was brilliant at last night's concert and showed why he is one of the greatest artists.

The repertoire consisted of arias and duets from the rich opus of operas by Verdi, Puccini and Bellini.

Maria José Siri – one of the leading sopranos in the world, perfectly matched the opera star and passionate conductor, who has been collaborating with Plácido Domingo since 2012.

María José Siri's performance, both solo and in a duet with Domingo, was full of emotions, and the audience eagerly absorbed each one.

The first part of the concert included works from Italian musical literature, and in the second part Domingo presented Spanish musical creations and several arias from operettas by Strauss and Lehár.

In the first part of the concert, Domingo, together with Italian soprano Maria José Siri, brought to life melodies by Puccini, Verdi and Bellini, while after a 15-minute break, the program was a little different. Domingo introduced the audience to the world of Spanish musical tradition with works by Strauss and Lehár.

The audience, with uninterrupted applause, brought the great artist back for an encore.

Placido Domingo arrived in Skopje on Wednesday. Without a single minute of rest, the famous maestro headed straight from the airport to the National Opera and Ballet, where he held his first rehearsal together with the NOB orchestra.

Maestro Domingo, in a video message ahead of the concert, expressed his pleasure at performing in the country and announced an event that will be remembered for a long time.

– The concert program will awaken all emotions: joy, laughter and, I hope, moments that we will remember forever. This is my first visit to Macedonia and I am truly excited to finally experience the magic of your beautiful country – said Plácido Domingo on the eve of the concert.

The concert was organized by the National Opera and Ballet with "Pragma Production", and with support from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

As informed by "Pragma Production", Domingo's guest appearance is special and is not part of any tour. They announced that the production and sound system of the concert will be perfect, adding that this is not Plácido Domingo's first concert in a sports hall.

Numerous well-known public figures and politicians enjoyed Domingo's music.

Plácido Domingo has earned his place in the annals of opera with a stellar career spanning nearly 50 years. As an artist in his own right and as a member of the Three Tenors, he has become one of the most respected names in classical music, winning countless accolades, including 12 Grammy Awards.
