Marija Zaharova, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry and a loyal aide to Putin, celebrated her 47th birthday on Thursday, and photos of her rather strange wedding are once again circulating on social media.

The wedding took place in 2005, without guests.

A few years ago, Zakharova shared a photo of the wedding on her Facebook profile on the occasion of the anniversary. But then she only posted a photo of herself.

A few days later, the photographer Nikolai Komisarov, who was hired by Zakharova because he was employed by the Russian consulate in New York, released the remaining photos because he thought he was allowed to do so. However, he later said that Zakharova even threatened him because of the published photos.

In the wedding photos, you can see that the bride was wearing a short white wedding dress, white stockings and long gloves. A white limousine was hired for the newlyweds. Her husband is businessman Andrei Zakharov.

They were married on November 7, 2005 in New York, where Zakharova was employed at the time. The wedding was photographed in the Russian consulate, so the portrait of Russian President Putin can be seen in the background of the photos.

Zakharova then said that her partner does not live in the United States, but came to the United States for the wedding. She also discovered that there were "as many guests as needed - only two" at the wedding. Today, the married couple Zakharov have a daughter, Marijana, who was born in 2010. Since 2015, Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova has been the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
