A delegation of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia led by the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European affairs, Bojan Maricic, and accompanied by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Oliver Spasovski and the Deputy Minister of Defense, Bashkim Hasani, on the occasion of August 18 – the Day of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, laid wreaths of fresh flowers at the Partisan Cemetery in Butel, and on the graves of General Mihajlo Apostolski and to the deceased presidents of the state and supreme commanders of the Army, Kiro Gligorov и Boris Trajkovski.
At the commemoration of the 79th anniversary of the formation of the "Mirce Acev" battalion, the first regular military unit in Macedonia in the NOB, after which August 18 was declared Army Day, we also commemorate 30 years of existence of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, we remember the centuries-old the struggle of the Macedonian freedom fighters who, with their selfless sacrifice, left a strong stamp embedded in the foundations of the Macedonian state.
The Army of the Republic of North Macedonia at the highest level shows maturity, professionalism and dedication, which is expected from the members of the modern armed forces and together with the other allied soldiers of the NATO member countries, acts in accordance with the standards of the Alliance, participates in international peace missions, giving own contribution to the preservation of global peace and security.
