PHOTO | Big riots in Brussels after Belgium's defeat by Morocco

Clashes broke out in Brussels after Morocco's World Cup victory over Belgium - dozens of Moroccan fans attacked police officers, police said, and reported "Index".
Even before the end of the match, "dozens of people, some of them masked, caused a conflict with the police forces in the center of the city, thus endangering public safety", according to the police statement.
The police say that the crowd used pyrotechnics and batons, threw stones at police officers and set a traffic light on fire, and a fire broke out in a street.

"A journalist was hit in the face with a pyrotechnic device," reported the police, who then decided to intervene with water cannons and tear gas.
A hundred policemen participated in the intervention, while the disgruntled people threw stones at them.
Police forces have urged residents and fans to avoid some downtown neighborhoods. Metro stations were closed and streets were blocked off to prevent gatherings.
