PHOTO | A Swiss politician of Bosnian origin shoots Mary and Jesus

Sanija Ameti, a Swiss politician of Bosnian origin and part of the "Operation Libero" movement, posted a photo on Instagram of her shooting the Virgin and Jesus. The image is from the Kohler auction house, known for its lavish art catalogs.

On Instagram, Ameti posted 2 photos of the shooting of Mary and Jesus. About twenty bullet holes can be seen on them. After the violent reactions, she deleted the photo stating that she did not realize that it could be offensive to Christians.

For shooting at 10 meters I needed objects that were sufficiently visible. I only had the Kohler catalog on hand which was large enough. I did not pay attention to the content of the picture. I apologize if I hurt anyone, she wrote.

She later said in an interview that "it was really stupid of her."

Ameti was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina and came to Switzerland in 1995 with her parents.
