The young Croatian actor Domagoj Nizic (25) will play the untimely deceased basketball player Drazen Petrovic in the upcoming biopic about "the Mozart of basketball."
The film will be directed by Danilo Sherbedzija, and the whole project will be realized at the initiative of the producer Ljubo Zdzelarevic и Ivor Schieber.
"With a lot of faith, hope, love and dedicated work, I will try to apply his personality in my work, training. So, I hope that I will be able to represent Drazen in acting." Nizic told "RTL".

The actress Zrinka Cvitesic will interpret the role of Biserka Petrovic, the mother of Drazen Petrovic.
Otherwise, the height difference between the actor and the deceased basketball player is only one centimeter. And Nižić himself was involved in sports, more precisely in volleyball.
"He is an example for all young people - not only for athletes, but also for others. He is an example of how life should be lived and how with renunciation comes great responsibility, with which comes great beauty. I think he left that beauty to all of us. It is a legacy that we all have to live with in the future," concluded the actor.

Dražen Petrović was a Yugoslav and Croatian basketball player, one of the best European basketball players of all time. He started his career in KK Sibenka, then continued in KK Cibona and KK Real Madrid, with which he had the most success. He continued his career in the NBA clubs Portland Trail Blazers and New Jersey Nets.
With the national team of Yugoslavia, he won bronze and silver medals at the Summer Olympics in 1984 and 1988, and with the national team of Croatia, he won a silver medal in 1992. In 1985, he received the "Golden Badge" award of "Sport" magazine, an award for the best an athlete in the then SFRY.
Petrović tragically lost his life in a car accident in Germany on June 7, 1993.
