PHOTO | From our grandmothers' old notebooks, a poppy seed cake suggested dessert for today
As a child I did not like this cake. I was annoyed that I would have poppy seeds (poppy seeds) left on my teeth and somehow it was not tasty, it was not "fancy" enough for me.
Now, after a hundred years :), when I make cakes at home myself, usually to have something sweet and not to buy, this cake is like that, a memory of the tangled notebooks with recipes of my grandmother and mother. Simple, easy, tasty. For coffee and tea in the morning, perfect. So here's what you need for this cake.
Ingredients needed:
3 eggs
200 g sugar,
1 sachet of vanilla sugar
150 ml of yogurt
100 ml of oil
1 sachet of baking powder
150 fl flour
150 g poppy seeds (poppy)
grated lemon peel
150 g of cooking chocolate
50 g butter for icing
Preparation:
Whisk the eggs with the sugar, vanilla sugar, yogurt and butter. Mix the baking powder aside in the flour and add it to the whipped mixture, then the poppy seeds and grated lemon peel. Mix the dough well and put it in a greased baking tin. Bake for about 30 minutes at 200 degrees, and to check if it is baked, you can prick it with a toothpick, if there is no trace left on it - the cake is baked.
Once cool, coat the top with melted chocolate with butter.
Enjoy!
